The government is set to start the 2nd phase work of
the Tk. 4000 crore Secondary Education Sector Development Project
(SESDP) within January, 2014.
Meanwhile, the 2nd phase work of Tk. 646 crore Teachers Quality Improvement (TQI) project will also be started by October 30, 2012.
The decisions came from a meeting of project consultation meeting presided over by education minister Nurul Islam Nahid at secretariat on Thursday.
A press release of education ministry unveiled the information.
The press release stated that the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) decided to start the 2nd phase work of TQI project at a meeting held on September 4.
Meanwhile, the ADB mission has suggested completing all necessary formalities, including administrative order, loan deal sign and forming project implementation committee within October 30.
Besides, they urged to appoint both national and international team leader in this regard.
On the other hand, the project preparatory technical assistance worth Tk. 6.35 crore will be implemented from October, 2012 to August 2013 in a bid to start the 2nd phase work of SESDP.
