The second reunion of the Dhaka University (DU) Rokeya Hall Alumni Association held on December 28, 2012 morning.
Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury was present there as the chief guest.
Matia said the government will distribute around 270 million copies of textbooks among the students of primary and secondary levels this year and more books will be distributed in coming years.
She said as the country has achieved a remarkable progress in education, many countries are adapting the model of its education system.
DU Vice Chancellor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique, Director General of Dhaka University Alumni Association Rakib Uddin and Adviser of Dhaka University Rokeya Hall Alumni Association principal Syeda Shams Ara Hossain, among others, also spoke on the occasion.
