The second convocation of World University of Bangladesh (WUB) was held at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in the city on Sunday, said a press release.
A total of 2300 students of seven departments have been awarded the Bachelor and Master degrees. Engineer Mohammad Harun-Or-Rashid obtained the Chancellor’s gold medal for securing a CGPA of 4 out of 4 in BSc in Mechatronics Engineering program.
President M Zillur Rahman, also chancellor of World University of Bangladesh, due to some unavoidable situation designated Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, MP to preside over the same.
Dr AF Serajul Islam Choudhury, Professor Emeritus, Department of English, University of Dhaka and Former UGC Professor was present in the program as the convocation speaker.
Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, Secretary, Ministry of Education, and Professor Dr SM Nazrul Islam, Vice Chancellor, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology were present on the occasion.
The event was also graced by the Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Abdul Mannan Choudhury and Dr Musfiq M Choudhury, the Member Secretary of the Board of Trustees.
The event was concluded by a colorful cultural program. More than 2500 students, Academic, Board, Council & Syndicate members, members of Trustees, Faculty members, officials and dignitaries attended the event.
