NSU team wins International Delegation Award

North South University (NSU) has brought glory to the nation as a team of the university won the 'Best Delegation Award' in 'Global Young Leaders Summit' held at the UN Headquarters in New York recently. The 16-member NSU delegation, led by Zunayeed Noor Alam, participated in the summit held from March 26 to 29, 2013.

The summit gathered students from five continents and offered them a higher-level atrium of confrontation and debate between culturally-diverse leaders, with the UN building as backdrop. Over 600 students representing the most prestigious universities of the world from 64 countries meet to discuss and provide concrete opinion on the hottest issues discussed by the world leaders.

Besides, they participated in drafting UN official documents and created inter-sectarian arena of dialogue, negotiation and best practices sharing. The delegates discussed crucial topics such as resource scarcity and its relation to conflict, the nuclear situation in Iran, establishing nuclear weapon, free zone in the Middle East and combating illicit trade of small and light weapons. Acting Vice-Chancellor of NSU congratulated the students, teachers and parents for bringing the glory to the university as well as the nation. He announced a grand reception for the winners.
