SSC results published: Record 89% pass


The results of this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations were published Thursday morning with overall pass percentage of 89.03, which have broken all records with the percentage rate of success.
The success rate of this year is 2.71 percent higher than that of last year.

Total 87.31 percent students passed the exams under Dhaka board, 94.03 percent under Rajshahi, 90.41 percent under Comilla, 92.82 percent under Jessore, 88.41 percent under Chittagong, 88.63 under Barisal, 88.96 percent under Sylhet and 90.80 percent under Dinajpur.

Students of the SSC (vocational) also did well this year with 81.13 percent pass while 89.31 percent passed in Madrasa Education Board.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid handed over a copy of the results to the prime minister in the morning.

He will formally announce the results through a press conference at his ministry at the Bangladesh Secretariat around 1:00pm.

As many as 91,226 students secured highest Grade Point Average (GPA-5) this year.

The number of GPA holder is 7,358 in Chittagong, 8,186 in Dinajpur Board, 2,789 students in Sylhet, 3,514 students in Barisal, 9,086 students in Jessore and 7,854 in Comilla.

A total of 1154,758 students passed in the exams while 1303,203 candidates from 27,073 educational institutions took part in the exams under all education boards.

The SSC and its equivalent Dakhil and SSC (vocational) results will be available in the website www.educationboardresults.gov.bd.

The examinations began on February 3 and the written tests ended on March 5.
