Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) organized an orientation programme on Saturday, 7 September 2013 at its permanent campus at Bashundhara, Dhaka, for the newly admitted students of the Autumn 2013 Semester.
In his short speech Prof. M Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor welcomes the students and urged beside study to contribute to the society, country and humanity. He called upon the new students to make this world a better place for the next generation. He mentioned, `Ask what you have done for your country, not what your country can do for you’.
Dr. Sarwar Uddin Ahmed, Dean, School of Business, Dr. Ali Shihab Sabbir, Dean, School of Engineering & Computer Science, Prof. M Ali Hossain, Dean, School of Environmental Science and Management, Dr Zakir Hossain Raju, Dean, School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Dr Rita Yusuf, Dean, School of Life Sciences, and Dr. Tanvir A. Khan, Registrar, also spoke to the newly admitted students on the occasion.
The programme was conducted by Ms Lima Choudhury, Dy Director, Undergraduate Admissions and Financial Aid of IUB.
Later the newly admitted students visited different Schools, Departments, Library, Cafeteria etc. Apart from the students, their parents, guardians, members of the faculty and management of IUB were present on the occasion.
