Saphena Women’s Dental College & Hospital is the only women’s dental college in Bangladesh and affiliated with the University of Dhaka. It is situated in the heart of capital city at holding no -64 , Plot no- 111, Malibagh, DIT Road, Dhaka-1217 ready to serve the nation by giving dental education to the women’s and to provide hospital service for the benefit of the general people in all kind of treatments of medicine and dentistry.

Degree offered:  BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) ,  University of Dhaka.
Duration of Course:The Duration or the B.D.S course is four years with professional examination in each year, conducted by Dhaka University. It will be followed by professional training for one year in the form of rotatory Internship (The duration of B.D.S course going to be five years very soon)
Eligibility and Selection Criteria:
1. Candidates Must have passed SSC and HSC or equivalent examinations having Physics, Chemistry and Biology as subjects and at least GPA 8.00 combindly in SSC HSC but minimum 3.50 in any of the examinations and at least GPA 3.50 in Biology.
2.  Students having O-level and A-level or equivalent qualifications have to apply certificate of equivalence issued from the office of the Directorate General of Health Services of the Government of Bangladesh.
3. Candidates who have passed SSC or equivalent examination in 2009-2010 and HSC or equivalent examination in 2011-2012 are eligible to apply. Candidates passed SSC or equivalent examinations before 2009 are not eligible to apply.
Application Form: Filling of Application in the prescribed form (available from the office of the College on payment ) must be filled up and submitted alone with the under noted documents within the notified time to the office of the Principal.
Admission Test:
a) Eligible  students will have to appear into a written examination of 100 marks in MCQ format based on the HSC syllabus of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English and General Knowledge conducted by the office of the Directorate General of Health Services of Bangladesh.
Selection of Candidates:
Selection for admission is controlled by the Directorate General of Health Services of Bangladesh.
The candidates will have to submit their applications within the time frame set by the college authority after the list of eligible candidates has been published by the office of the Directorate General of Health Services of Bangladesh. Thereafter they will be selected for admission on merit basis.
Medical Fitness Test:
All Provisionally selected candidates will have to undergo medical fitness test by a medical board constituted by the Principal of the college. Any candidate having gross physical disability or colour blindness etc is generally considered unfit for admission.
Documents to be submitted by the candidates:
All photocopies of documents must be attested by competent authorities:
  1.   Photocopy of Mark Seets or Academic Transcripts of SSC and HSC or equivalent examinations
  2.   Photocopy of Testimonials & Certificates of SSC and HSC or equivalent examinations
  3.   Four copies of recent passport size photographs duly attested.
  4.   Nationality certificate from the Chairman of the Union Parishad or Ward Councillor of Pourashava or City Corporation.
Cancellation of Admission
Once admission in BDS class is completed there is no scope for refund of money. If any student want to leave the seat will be vacant for the next four years.
Re-Admission Procedure
The students must pay their tuition fees by 1st month of the Term (Jan-June,July-Dec)for 6 month’s at a time if they fail to pay tuition fees within first month, they have to pay late fees of Tk. 10/- for each day till tuition fees are paid, up to three months. The students who will not pay his/her tuition fee for more than three months, his/her name shall be stuck off from the College register. If he/she intends to get himself/herself re-admitted after three months he/she will be re-admitted after paying fine (equivalent to one month’s tuition fee) and will clear up tuition fees and other charges/ fines applicable for readmission subject to approval of the Academic Council.
