Dutch-Bangla Bank Ltd (DBBL) for the fifth time awarded scholarships to 4,015 students who passed SSC examination in 2012.
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith handed over the scholarship awarding letters to the recipients was present as the chief guest at a ceremony at Shahid Shohrawardi Indoor Stadium.
Md. Shafiqur Rahman Patwari, Secretary, Banking and Financial Institutions Division if the Ministry of Finance and SK Sur Chowdhury, Deputy Governor of the Bangladesh Bank were present as special guests.
Sayem Ahmed, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of DBBL presided over the function. KS Tabrez, Managing Director of the bank was also present at the function.
Muhith lauded the role of Dutch-Bangla Bank in the field of education by way of awarding scholarships to the needy students. He underscored the need for the support and cooperation of all corporate bodies for the underprivileged students in the country.
