Grameen MD hunt soon: Muhith

Finance Minister AMA Muhith has said applications will very soon be invited through newspaper advertisements for appointment of a managing director of Grameen Bank.
Muhith told reporters at his secretariat office on Tuesday that many persons with international reputation have shown interest to become MD of the microlender.
The finance minister said when the initiative taken to amend the Grameen Bank Ordinance takes final shape a search committee will be formed. The committee will call the applications.
He said the USA did not put any pressure on the government regarding Grameen Bank. The USA said an efficient and internationally reputed person needed to be appointed.
