Standard Chartered Bank, Bangladesh awarded ‘Governor Scholarship’ to meritorious students of Dhaka University for 2007-08, 2008-09, 2009-10 and 2010-11 sessions.
StanChart in partnership with Dhaka University Economics Department Alumni Association (DUEDAA) handed over certificates to the recipients of ‘Governor Scholarships’. Shitangshu Kumar Sur Chowdhury, Deputy Governor, Bangladesh Bank handed over 20 scholarships to the students of Economics Department of the university, said a press release.
Dr. Hossain Zillur Rahman, President, Dhaka University Economics Department Alumni Association was special guest while Bitopi Das Chowdhury, Head of Corporate Affairs, Standard Chartered Bank and Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences and General Secretary, DUEDAA were present at the function as special guests.
The recipients of the scholarships are Mohibus Salehin, Md. Nahid Ferdous Pabon, Shahdat Hossain, Md. Emran Hasan, AKM Kaniz Farhana Kona, Shahidul Islam and Md. Sabbir Hossain for 1st Year (Session 2010-11), Aktar Hossain, Hasan Ahmmed for 1st year (Session 2010-11), Zubayer Hossen, Mahtab Uddin, Shoaib Ahamad, Sonia Afrin Ale, Mohammad Riaz Uddin for 2nd Year (Session 2009-10), Abul Kalam Azad, Abdullah Al Maruf, Shabnam Ara Akhi, Monjury 3rd Year (Session 2008-09) and Md. Atiqur Rahman, and Md. Nur-E-Alom Siddique for 4th Year (Session 2007-08).
