Begum Rokeya Day observed at Dhaka University (DU) marking Begum Rokeya's 132nd birth and 80th death anniversaries.
A rally led by DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique was brought out from Rokeya Hall which was participated by the hall Provost Professor Dr. Nazma Shahin and the resident students.
Speakers at a discussion said Begum Rokeya spearheaded the women's rights movement and fought a lifelong battle to ensure Bangalee women's access to education.
At evening, "Rokeya Memorial Foundation" gold medal, scholarship giving ceremony held at DU Rokeyal Hall.
