Times Scholars is an initiative by the Times of India to recognize and reward the brightest young minds in the country
Invite students of class XII from all over the country to apply for the programme by filling out a simple form on website www.timesscholars.com
Students will be shortlisted based on
information given by them in the form, and the shortlisted candidates
will go through the next levels of testing
Eligibility: Students currently studying in Class XII of any school in IndiaRewards: The top 20 Times Scholars will get a cash scholarship of Rs 5,00,000/- each
The amount will be transferred to the parent/guardian’s bank account n four annual instalments
80 students will be given Rs 5,000/- each as a special mention scholarship
Selection Process: The selection process for the Times Scholars programme is simple and doesn’t require much time from the already busy students of class XII
Stage 1: Applications invites
Students can visit website www.timesscholars.com and fill the application form online

It has to be filled at one go
Last date for submission is 10th September, 2012
Entries will not be accepted after 11.59 p.m. on 10th September, 2012
Stage 2: Shortlisted candidates will be asked to appear for an Aptitude Test on 23rd September, 2012
Aptitude Test Centres: Ahmedabad,
Chandigarh, Jaipur, Nagpur, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Patna,
Bhopal, Delhi, Lucknow, Pune, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Mumbai
Test will be a computer based examinationCandidates will need to answer 110 questions in 2 hours duration
Each question will have 5 choices of answers
There will be negative marking for incorrect answers
Following areas will be tested (candidates will need to short proficiency in each of the sections)
Numerical Ability; Verbal Reasoning; Logical Reasoning; General Awareness
Stage 3: Candidates who pass the exam will be required to go through a round of group discussions and interviews with a panel of judges on any one day between 09th October, 2012 and 11th October, 2012 at one of the following centres
Ahmedabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata, NagpurPost this round, the final short list of about 100 candidates will be declared on 19th October, 2012
Stage 4: The top 100 candidates will be called for the final round of selection to be held in New Delhi on 02nd-03rd November, 2012
Candidates will be evaluated by well-known personalities from various fieldsThey will go through a round of group discussion and personal interview over the two days
The final results will be declared on 05th November, 2012
