Bank Asia provided higher study scholarship to 15 insolvent meritorious students of Konabari Upazila of Gazipur district as a part of its corporate social responsibility on March 02, 2013, says a press release.
Aminul Islam, Deputy Managing Director of the bank, handed over the scholarship money to the students at a function held at a local restaurant in Konabari. General Manager of Gazipur Polli Bidyut Samity Syed Wahidul Islam, Assistant Vice President and Head of North South Road Branch of the bank Anisur Rahman, were also present.
A large number of people including students, teachers, journalists, businessmen and local elite attended the function. Bank Asia gives scholarships for higher study to the meritorious students in rural areas, where the bank has branches. A total of 153 (one hundred fifty three) students have been selected for Bank Asia Higher Study Scholarship for the year 2012.
