Govt orders to forbid 6 educational institutions

Government has ordered to eject six higher educational institutions permanently those runs at Dhaka. Home ministry has ordered this to the District counselor office on March 10, 2013.

Action will be taken against - Victoria University, Bhuiyan Institute of Technology, SAFS, Chancery Academy of English Law, North American University and The International University.

Education Ministry informed that, letters were sent to Home ministry to take action against these institutions.

UGC Chairman AK Azad Chowdhury said, "There are some more illegal institutions outside Dhaka. They are involved in Certificate forgery."

UGC made a list of 56 illegal educational institutions. UGC also published the list in different dailies. UGC chairman said about this, "UGC can only recommend, but it is duty of police or law enforcing authority to take actions against them."

"Fake institutions always take the order of court when we try to disclose them. So UGC has recommended for giving some power by forming an education commission," he added.

Sources informed, there are some universities continuing their activities by taking order of high court. One of them is America Bangladesh University. Though it is approved by government, but for not fulfilling all requirements, government disqualified its certificate. But the university is running its activities by taking order of high court.
