How long are my GED test score valid?

Once an examinee has completed all 5 GED tests with a score of 410 or higher and a total score of 2250 or higher, their GED scores are good forever. In Washington State when an examinee has completed only a portion of the 5 GED tests, those scores will remain valid until the GED adminstration re-formats the GED tests in the year 2012. The examinee must then earn their GED before January 1st, 2012 when the next re-formating happens or their partial GED test scores from 2002 through 2011 will become invalid and the examinee would have to start completely over in 2012. For more information on the 2012 series of GED tests please visit: www.gedtest.org/2012 Some other states have more restrictive rules regarding time deadlines for completing the GED. If you plan to finish your GED testing outside of Washington State, feel free to contact us regarding the policies in other states.
