Department
of Business Administration of Green University of Bangladesh (GUB)
arranged a “Career Talk” at the auditorium of the university on October
26, 2013. Mr. Md. Shahid Ullah, honorable Treasurer
and acting Vice Chancellor of Green university of Bangladesh was the
chief guest of this event. Mr. Shawkat Kamal, Chairperson and Associate
Professor, Department of Business Administration chaired the seminar.Ms.
Sharmin Sultan, Vice President of Human Resource, Robi Axiata Limited
was the main resource person and special guest of this seminar. The focus of the seminar was career counseling.
Ms. Sharmin Sultan discussed different aspects of career development keeping competitive job market in mind. The students have to gain the skills and abilities which are essential in order to fulfill the specific requirements of jobs.
She emphasized on the research of job market. She also specified
different issues related to efficient resume writing. She advised the
students to participate in different extracurricular activities, to do
different specialized courses like SPSS, Supply Chain Management, SAP
etc. to enhance their knowledge. She also suggested them to gain
experience by doing different part time jobs. She gave them ideas about
how to take preparation and how to face job interview. Then there was a
question-answering session where she answered different questions of the
participating students.
The whole discussion was moderated by a BBA student, Fuad Bin Zafar. Honorable Treasurer
concluded the seminar by vote of thanks. Faculty members and students
of Business Department were present in the seminar.
