Islamic Development Bank-Bangladesh Islamic Solidarity Educational Wakf
(IDB-BISEW) was established following an agreement between the Islamic
Development Bank, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and the Government of
Bangladesh. IDB-BISEW undertakes funding, formulating and implementing
of projects in the areas of education, human resource development and
institutional strengthening.
Currently in its tenth year of
operation, the IDB-BISEW IT Scholarship Project was launched in 2002.
The training programme under this project started in 2003. The program's
aim is to enhance the employment prospects of meritorious Muslim youths
who come from financially disadvantaged background. By imparting high
quality and professional level IT training of global standard to these
individuals, the IT Scholarship training program seeks to establish them
as highly effective IT professionals who are able to secure rewarding
careers at home and abroad.
Who can apply for the IDB-BISEW scholarships?
- Candidates must have the following academic backgrounds:
- Bachelors/Fazil degree holders, or
- Diploma holders in Civil Eng. or Architecture
- Candidates must have at least second division or equivalent results in their SSC and HSC examinations.
