Interactive Teaching and Learning workshop at Green University

 


Green University Center of Excellence for Teaching and Learning (GUCETL) has organized a two day long (15-16 November) workshop on “Interactive Teaching and Learning at the Tertiary Level: Steps towards Quality & Excellence” at its auditorium on 15 November 2013. A total of 30 Faculty Members from 04 public and 18 private universities participated the workshop. The Vice Chancellor of Green University Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir inaugurated the workshop on 15 November 2013 and he was the lead facilitator for the workshop.  Prof. Professor Dr. Abdur Rab, Vice-Chancellor of Eastern University and Prof. Dr. Iftekhar Ghani Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor of State University of Bangladesh were present in the opening session. Professor Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury, Vice Chancellor of University of Asia Pacific, Professor Dr. M. Lutfor Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of Daffodil International University were present as the Chief Guest and Guest of Honor respectively in the closing session.


Some of the sessions of the workshop were facilitated by some eminent educationist. They were Dr. M. Kaykobad, Professor of BUET; Dr. Syed Ferhat Anwar of IBA, DU; Md. Shawkat Kamal, Chairperson of DBA, GUB; Dr. Islam MD. Hashanat, Associate Professor of English, GUB; ASM Shamim Miah, Director of GULC, GUB; Mr. Kh. Atikur Rahman and Ms. Aria Rahman of GUCETL, GUB.


The workshop covered topics like Effective Habits of High Performing Teachers, Creativity and Critical Thinking in Teaching, Managing Student’s Disruptive Behavior: The Role of The Teachers, Teaching Methodology: Teacher Centered vs Learner Centered, Moving Beyond the PowerPoint in Classroom Teaching Learning, Avoiding Plagiarism in Writing, Performance Assessment and Feedback, Discussion on Course Syllabus and Developing Lesson Plan, Micro-Teaching Practices etc. The workshop came to a close with a cultural programme followed by a sumptuous dinner.
