Prof.
Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir VC of Green University of Bangladesh (GUB)
represented the University in the World Innovation Summit for Education
(WISE). The summit was Organized and funded by Qatar Foundation which
was held on 29-31 October 2013 at the Qatar National Convention Centre, Doha and was attended More than 1,200 prominent education, corporate, political and social leaders from over 100 countries took part in three days of debate, dialog and networking. Before
that Prof. Golam Samdani Fakir was participated in the WISE Program for
Education Leadership which was held during 26-28 October, 2013 in Doha,
Qatar.
The
WISE summit is a major international gathering that brings together
leaders, decision makers, practitioners and creative individuals from
education and other sectors to address the challenges of education.
The theme of WISE 2013 is "Reinventing Education for Life
". There were at least 10 sessions which had explored how education can
be transformed through innovation, collaborative actions and
partnerships. The summit is not just about developments in the modern
world, but also ongoing challenges, such as helping the hardest to reach
children, and children in conflict zones who are prevented access to
education.
The
summit had attracted global recognition for the ambitious mission and
for its achievements in improving the lives of individuals and
communities by transforming education. The rich diversity of the
delegates had resulted in many exciting ideas and discussions. The
program had progressed from reflecting on the current state of education
to considering emerging practices and doing things differently to build
a learning world.
