The authorities of Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU) on Wednesday banned all kinds of activities of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on the campus until further order.
"We took the decision to ensure a peaceful atmosphere on the campus," PSTU Registrar Md Nawab Ali told our Patuakhali correspondent in the afternoon.
The decision came from an emergency meeting of the academic council, a day after 50 people were injured in a factional clash of BCL activists over submitting tender at the university.
Local business owners of Pirtala Bazar is observing a dawn-to-dusk hartal for today protesting BCL men's attack on their establishments and for injuring 20 businessmen .
