JnU reduce development fees

Jagannath University (JnU) reduced development fees charged during admission and assured the agitating students of building a dormitory immediately.

The announcement came from a meeting between the university authorities and Progressive Students' Alliance (PSA) at a conference room at about 2:00 pm.

Earlier, under the banner of PSA, the general students raised their voice against the excessive development fees. They also demanded construction of a new dormitory for them within a short time.

After JnU authority assured them of recovering the three halls which are still occupied by land grabbers and reduce the excessive development fees students withdrawn their protest programme.

JnU Treasurer Professor Md. Selim Bhuiyan said, "We have held a successful discussion with the PSA leaders."
