University Social Bonding Club (GUSBC) of the Department of Sociology
& Anthropology successfully organized a seminar on “Rubella Virus
and Congenital Birth Defects in Bangladesh: Socio-cultural and Medical
Lenses” on November 23, 2013. The objective of the seminar was to make
students of Green University of Bangladesh aware of and disseminate the
knowledge regarding Rubella virus and congenital birth defects in
Bangladesh. Abul Kalam Azad inaugurated the seminar and presented a key
note speech. Then distinguished guests Dr. Rezaul Karim, Associate
Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, BSMMU and Md.
Saiful Islam, Assistant Scientist, CCD, ICDDR,B were invited to give
their valuable talks from medical and socio-cultural perspectives.
Finally, the program was ended by Professor Dr. Golam Samdani Fakir,
Vice Chancellor of GUB followed by a question and answer session.
